Asiatic Lion cubs are treated by the veterinarian at the zoo in Magdeburg, Germany. Two young lions were separated from their mothers for a short time to get a medical checkup. The lions were inoculated and implanted a microchip. They were born on 13 May 2010 and by now weigh about 8 kilograms. The new blood for the endangered species of big cats, that can only be found wild in a reservation in India, is a big success

Australian scientists have discovered bizarre prehistoric sea life hundreds of metres below the Great Barrier Reef, in an unprecedented mission to document species under threat from ocean warming. Among the creatures they discovered were this deep-sea anglerfish.. .
