Launches a new tool that would enable creating mobile application for Android devices even by a commoner

BANGALORE, INDIA: Search engine giant, Google on Monday announced the launch of App Inventor tool for Android.

This tool allows creating mobile application for Android devices even by a commoner.

“For many people, their mobile phone—and access to the Internet—is always within reach. App Inventor for Android gives everyone, regardless of programming experience, the opportunity to control and reshape their communication experience,” said a blog posted by Mark Friedman, Google Engineer.

The Android platform has become a gainer with increasing popularity, as it is the first complete open source and free mobile platform. It is seen as a tough competitor to major smartphone vendors in the industry such as Apple, RIM.

Through this new tool, Google is trying to lure another major chunk of smartphone users, which include non-programmers, professionals and students.
